Civil Infrastructure for Commercial EV Charging Projects

Merit Civil supports EV charging contractors, electrical contractors, developers, and commercial property owners by building the site infrastructure required for charger installation. We complete the demolition, trenching, underground conduit, concrete foundations, pavement replacement, and restoration scope according to the project’s engineered plans.

Our role

The Civil Work Before the Chargers Go In

From saw cutting and trenching to underground conduit, equipment pads, concrete replacement, and final site restoration, Merit Civil delivers the civil infrastructure that prepares commercial properties for EV charger installation.

Clear scope boundary: Merit prepares the site and installs required civil infrastructure based on engineered plans. The EV charging or electrical contractor pulls wire, connects electrical systems, installs charging equipment, completes commissioning and activates the chargers.

Typical project sequence

A coordinated path from plans to handoff

The exact sequence follows site conditions, project documents, inspections and the work of other trades.

Prepared for active properties

Gas stations, convenience stores, grocery stores, retail centers, restaurants, hotels, multifamily properties, office buildings, fleet facilities and public parking locations each bring different access and sequencing needs.

Working in active facilities

The team plans and coordinates work to reduce avoidable disruption. That means maintaining practical customer access, coordinating lane and parking-space closures, protecting pedestrians, sequencing the work, communicating with site management, and leaving a clean, professional site.
